Frame Specifications:

AS Series – 16 gauge single return Standard Frame for 1-3/4” Doors:

Shall be fabricated from 16 gauge Galvanneal steel to ASTM A653-B, A40 (ZF120) 0.40 oz/ft2 coating. Optional coating G90 (ZF275) is also available. Optional 18 or 14 gauge material is also available upon request. Frames are equipped with one welded in floor flange anchor per jamb. Knocked down frames supplied with self-aligning tabs and slots to lock corners. Frames mitered and welded on the inside of the profile are available as an option. Butt joints of mullions, transom bars, centre rails and sills shall be coped and welded securely. All welded joints to be ground smooth. Glazing stops shall be formed channel, minimum 5/8” height, butted at corners and countersunk oval head screws. Factory applied touch up primer shall be used at area where zinc coating has been removed during fabrication. Two temporary jamb spreader bars shall be welded in each frame to maintain proper alignment during shipment and must be removed prior to installation.

DW3 Series – 16 or 18 gauge KD Double return Standard
Frame for 1-3/4” Doors:

Shall be fabricated from 16 gauge Galvanneal steel to ASTM A653-B, A40 (ZF120) 0.40 oz/ft2 coating. Optional coating G90 (ZF275) is also available. Optional 14 gauge material is also available upon request. Frames are equipped with 2 pairs of welded in strap anchors and one compression anchor in each jamb. Knocked down frames are supplied with self-aligning tabs and slots for locked corners. Optional welded frames shall be mitered and continuously welded on the inside of the profile. Butt joints of mullions, transom bars, centre rails and sills shall be coped and welded securely. All welded joints to be ground smooth. Glazing stops shall be formed channel, minimum 5/8” height, butted at corners and fastened to frame section with countersunk oval head screws. Factory applied touch up primer shall be used at areas where zinc coating has been removed during fabrication.

Hardware Preparations:

Frames shall be blanked, reinforced, drilled and tapped for mortised template hardware. Mortised cut-outs shall be protected with steel guard boxes (may be omitted on drywall applications). Frames shall be reinforced where required, for surface mounted hardware. Drilling and tapping is to be done by others in the field, at the time of installation. Frames shall be prepared for single stud rubber door silencers, three (3) per single door openings.

Hardware Locations:

Unless specified otherwise the location of hinges, strikes and closer reinforcing shall be All Steel Doors 2000 standard locations.

Fire Rated Frames:

Fire labelled frame products shall be provided for those openings requiring fire protection ratings as determined and scheduled by the architect. Such products shall be tested in strict conformance with CAN4 –S104, ASTM E – 152 or NFPA 252 as listed by a nationally recognized agency having a factory inspection service and shall be constructed as detailed in the follow-up service procedures.

Site Storage and Protection:

All frames shall be thoroughly inspected upon receipt and all discrepancies, deficiencies and/or damages shall be reported, in writing to All Steel doors 2000 within 3 days of receipt of shipment. All shipments are FOB All Steel Doors 2000. All damages incurred during shipment to be claimed by the distributor directly from the freight carrier. Frames shall be removed from any wrapping or covering and be stored in a protected location in an upright position, on wood sills or planks.

Installation of Frames:

All frames shall be set plumb, square and level at the correct elevation. Fire labelled frames shall be installed in accordance with NFPA – 80, most current edition. Secure anchors and connections to adjacent construction. Brace frames rigidly in position while building in. Remove temporary bars prior to installation. Install wood spreaders at three points on frame rebate to maintain frame width. Provide vertical support at the centre of head for openings exceeding 48” in width. Remove wood spreaders after frames have been built-in. Install door silencers.

Warranty:

All frames shall be guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year. There are no warranties expressed or implied, which extend beyond those described herein: If our product is found to be defective we will at our discretion either repair or replace the defective item(s). All Steel Doors 2000 Ltd. will not be liable or obligated for any damages of any kind beyond this repair or replacement. Misuse, abuse, improper storage, handling, improper installation or application of product will not be covered by warranty at our discretion. Our warranty terminates one year after product has been shipped from our plant and at any time anyone other than an individual authorized by us performs any work of repair, service or replacement on the product without prior written approval.
